Funding 

World Curling Federation has available the Development Assistance Programme (DAP) to aid Member Associations with development projects centred around increasing curling participation in their country.

There are two rounds of DAP Funding in the 2023 season. 

• 1st June - 30th November 2023
• 1st December 2023 - 31st May 2024

If your club's or group's programme is for the Development of Curling, you can apply to NZ Curling for DAP Funding. Before you begin your project, fill out an application form. You will need to obtain quotes for your project. Allow up to a month for your application to be processed. 

Please note - you can not apply for DAP funding retrospectively; it must be completed prior to the commencement of a project. 

Process for DAP Application:

1. A funding year runs from 1st June - 31st May. 
2. Complete an NZ Curling DAP Application Form.  The Information required for NZ Curling is based on # curling, hours curling and length of the curling programme.  
3. Obtain a quote from your ice facility to support the application, and send it to nzca.secretary@curling.org.nz. If you require a quote from MCI, NZCA will obtain it on your behalf.
4. NZ Curling will apply to World Curling Federation (WCF) for Development and Participation Funding (DAP) using the information from 1 - 3
5. Result of application. If accepted...
6. The Development Programme occurs. Please take photos. 
7. Submit a 'DAP Reflection Report' on the programme for NZ Curling. This report is to include how many curled, ages, and frequency of the event (weekly etc). The progress you saw and how the funding assisted your development programme. Even get some attendees to tell you things they liked about the programme. NB: There only needs to be one reflection for the whole programme; it doesn't need to be per session. The report is to include some photos of attendees learning to curl and, if applicable, a range of ages etc.
8. Submit the report as a Word Document with the photos on the Word Doc to NZCA Secretary. 
9. Send the invoice for ice hire to NZ Curling, and NZ Curling will pay the ice time directly to the facility.
10. NZ Curling will not pay an invoice without receipt of a 'reflection report' and invoice for the Development Programme from the ice facility.
11. NZ Curling submits reports to World Curling of the programme.

A Travel Subsidy is available for people who live outside Central Otago to attend the NZCA Training Camps 1, 2 and 4.    You can only apply for the Travel Subsidy after full attendance at the Training Camp. Travel subsidies are as below;

• Dunedin $50
• South Island $100
• North Island $200

Please allow at least six weeks for your application to be processed.  Go to the NZ Curling Calendar to see when the next NZCA Meeting will be to ensure you have your application in on time. Please ensure you email the NZCA Secretary after submitting your application to ensure it is received by the Executive. 

All applications will be presented to the NZCA Executive and they will review them at their monthly meeting.
